HOW DO WE WORK?

Here at Hello Nannies we pride ourselves on the excellent matches we make between our families and our candidates.

Here at Hello Nannies we pride ourselves on the excellent matches we make between our families and our candidates. We really try to get to know our families and have an in depth discussion with you in order to make sure we can find you the best possible candidates. We know you need a nanny who will go above and beyond to put your children first. You also need a nanny who will fit in well with your family.

We carefully consider the personal element of the matching process… let's face it, working day to day in your home and with your children is one of the most personal working relationships there is. We find the best candidates for you, send you their profiles and you decide who you would like to meet. We help guide you through the interview process and liaise with you and the nannies every step of the way.

As an agency, we register highly qualified and experienced nannies with excellent interpersonal skills and references. Our nannies will hold an up-to-date 12-hour Paediatric First Aid certificate and an Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service. Nannies can also be Ofsted registered - which means you will be able to use the Tax Free Childcare Scheme to pay your nanny if you meet the eligibility requirements (please see our 'Tax Free Childcare' information page to find out more).

We also offer a great selection of junior nannies and mothers help nannies, on the merit of their applications, references, agency interview, and employment history.

WHAT DOES A NANNY DO?

No one family is the same and we understand that all families will have different requirements. We tailor our nanny search to you and your family and find you candidates who perfectly match your needs.

Typically, your nanny will take care of the following childcare duties as standard:

  • All childcare
  • 'Nursery duties' - which entails keeping the children's bedrooms and play areas clean, tidy and organised as well as taking care of all of your children's laundry and ironing
  • Meal preparation for the children
  • Sterilizing baby bottles and feeding equipment

A Nanny/Housekeeper would, in addition to all of the above, typically carry out housekeeping duties such as cleaning, family shopping, running errands, overseeing contractors in the household, changing bed linen, family washing and ironing, family cooking.

Ultimately, no one family is the same and we understand that all families will have different requirements. We tailor our nanny search to you and your family and find you candidates who perfectly match your needs.

Please get in touch with us to discuss your requirements in more detail.

DBS CHECKS

We require all of our nannies to hold a current Enhanced DBS Check on the Update Service.

We require all of our nannies to hold a current Enhanced DBS Check on the Update Service. This means that, as an employer, you'll be able to log on to the Government's DBS website and check the status of a certificate at any time. At the point of placement, we will ensure our nannies hold a valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service; moving forward, it is the Nanny's responsibility to ensure her DBS is current and up-to-date.

FIRST AID CERTIFICATES

All of our nannies will have a full 12-hour Paediatric First Aid certificate, thus meeting the requirements for Ofsted registration.

All of our nannies will have a full 12-hour Paediatric First Aid certificate, thus meeting the requirements for Ofsted registration. This course is highly comprehensive and covers: checking for signs of breathing, injury assessment, infant and child CPR/resuscitation, the recovery position, choking, bleeds and shock management, anaphylaxis, seizures, childhood illnesses, and much more. 12-hour Paediatric First Aid certificates are valid for 3 years and it is the Nanny's responsibility to keep these current.

If a nanny comes to us without a certificate, or with an expired certificate, we will ensure they are signposted to a reputable course provider and will have a current certificate in place prior to starting a position.

TAX FREE CHILDCARE AND CHILDCARE VOUCHERS

The Tax-Free Childcare scheme is a government scheme to help working parents/carers with childcare costs.

The Tax-Free Childcare scheme is a new government scheme (launched in 2017) to help working parents/carers with childcare costs. If you are eligible, you will be able to open an online account for each of your children, in to which for every £8 you pay towards childcare the Government will automatically pay in an extra £2. You can receive up to £2000 per annum towards the cost of childcare for each child.

You can check your eligibility on the Childcare Choices website. Your Nanny must be registered with Ofsted (which we can help with) in order for you to use Tax Free Childcare. Seeing as your nanny being Ofsted registered primarily benefits you, the Employer, is it typical for the Employer to cover the cost of Ofsted registration (£103 per annum).

After October 2018, Tax-Free Childcare will replace Childcare Vouchers, which will no longer be available to new applicants. However, if you currently use Childcare Vouchers you will be able to continue to do so, as long as your Employer continues to provide the scheme.
